Rita Ora, 32, has revealed how she spent her first date with New Zealand born director husband Taika Waititi, 47.
The pair reminisced over the beginning of their relationship while testing out the local delicacies during a trip to Düsseldorf.
In the city to present MTV’s European Music Awards, Rita admitted she was friends with the award-winning creative for almost five years before their relationship turned romantic.
Sitting side by side at a table in the location’s oldest brewery, the happy couple told the story of how they met over beer and hearty meals.
The Let Me Love You singer said she met her now spouse through friends in a ‘casual’ setting in Los Angeles.
They struck up a friendship for the next few years and only then did things heat up and transform into a relationship during a party they both found themselves at while working in Australia.

She told Vogue’s video team of their first romantic date: ‘It was more like a party date rather than like a sit-down dinner date.’
Taika chimed in clearing up the pair’s history: ‘We’ve known each other for years before we got together.’
Rita continued telling the story: ‘We met in LA and it was through friends and it was amazing, very casual and then we stayed friends for like four, five years and it was just a natural thing.

‘We were both in Australia doing two separate jobs and we didn’t really know that many people in Australia so we hung out and that was it.
‘We went to a friend’s birthday party and that’s when everything clicked’.
Elsewhere in the video that documented 24 hours with the happy duo, the songstress shared her love language and how she gives her husband a little TLC.
‘My love language is words of affirmation and gifting – who doesn’t love gifting?’, she questioned.
Taika and his wife were invited to sign a book at the mayor of the city’s residence earlier on in the day and added their names to the pages that also featured signatures from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Staying on a royal track, Rita was also shown exclaiming her excitement over trying on an Ellie Saab dress once worn by legend Whitney Huston.
