Matthew Wright has confessed he will not be enjoying Christmas Day with his family.
The former The Wright Stuff presenter, 57, has been married to his second wife Amelia Gatte for more than a decade, after meeting at a garden party hosted by mutual friend Miriam Stoppard.
The couple welcomed their first child in 2019, daughter Cassady Frances Wright, following eight years of ‘challenging’ IVF treatment.
The former The Sun and The Daily Mirror journalist appeared on Tuesday’s This Morning, where he chatted to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about his plans for the festive period.
He explained: ‘I’m not seeing the wife and child on Christmas day, we’re having it apart again.’
‘My wife and child are down with granny. I’m at home, working. For [radio station] LBC.’
Holly, 41, remarked: ‘Whatever works for each individual family’ before Matthew admitted d that he ‘loves’ having the time to himself.

Phillip, 60, then pressed him on how his wife felt about being left alone, with Matthew joking: ‘She loves it! it gets her away from me for a few days! How do you think she feels?!’
Matthew previously revealed he almost missed Cassady’s birth as his 40-minute route to the hospital took over an hour.
Chatting to Hello magazine, the star explained how he was ‘having kittens’ as he relayed his nightmare journey.
He explained: ‘There was a taxi drivers’ strike, every road we went on was stuck and there was no more communication from her.

‘It took one hour 15 minutes to get from my offices in Waterloo to the hospital in Hammersmith, usually it would be 40 minutes, and I was having kittens.’
As Matthew was rushing to get to the hospital, Amelia said her blood pressure suddenly went ‘sky high.’

She continued: ‘My blood pressure suddenly went sky high and they said, “This is dangerous, it has to happen now.” They said they would try and wait for Matthew to get there but otherwise they were going to have to start.
‘He needed to get there no later than when he did, or he would have missed it.’
