Susanna Reid has admitted that David Beckham is one of her favourite celebrities she’s ever interviewed while recalling how she was teased for their ‘flirty’ chat years back.
Through her work as an anchor on Good Morning Britain, Susanna has spoken to high-profile individuals from all walks of life, regularly grilling politicians on live TV and engaging in heated debates.
However, one of her favourite televised conversations came when she spoke to football star David for GMB in 2015.
Speaking about their meeting seven years ago, Susanna, 51, said that it’s ‘always lovely to do the big celebrity interviews’.
‘One of my favourites was with ex-footballer David Beckham,’ she told Woman & Home, via MailOnline.
‘I spoke with him about his work with UNICEF, retiring from football and Bond rumours, yet I was still teased about flirting with him!’ she added.

During the interview, Susanna remarked to David, now 47, how ‘blinking hot’ it was under the light, as he responded:’It’s very hot. I’m surprised, you’ve got an amazing dress and I’m in a T-shirt.’
‘I should have worn the T-shirt,’ the presenter replied at the time.
Following the interview, Kate Garraway expressed how ‘bitter’ she felt that Susanna had the chance to chat to the former England star.
‘You were nothing but professional but I’m weirdly still bitter,’ Kate said, while Susanna stated that the retired footballer was a ‘friend’.

David has found himself in hot water recently, becoming the focus of a publicity stunt by comedian Joe Lycett who called out the athlete for becoming an ambassador to promote Qatar during the World Cup, despite homosexuality being illegal in the country.
Joe pretended to shred £10,000 in an effort to get David’s attention, before later revealing he’d actually donated the money to LGBT charities and instead shredded the celebrity’s Attitude magazine cover.
Earlier this week, David was seen in high spirits while taking his seat for England’s first World Cup match against Iran, waving at the cameras before England won the game 6-2.
He later sent a message to England star Marcus Rashford after the sporting star’s goal, commenting on Instagram: ‘Great goal mate.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
