I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star Scarlette Douglas claimed she knew she was ‘never going to get the most votes’ after several accused the voting public of racism.
Fans were fuming after the A Place In The Sun presenter, 35, was the second campmate to exit the jungle during Sunday’s show, while Loose Women’s Charlene White was the first eliminated in Friday’s installment.
The noticeable pattern didn’t sit well with viewers, with one writing: ‘People are so obviously racist. the first two people to leave are black women and in the odds one of the people most likely to leave, is a black man. I’m actually sick of this, theres never been a black winner either. this was supposed to be the year, with scarlette,’ one more said.
While others argued that race was likely not a factor in the stars’ departures.
‘I wish people would stop making #ImACeleb a race issue. Charlene was voted out as she failed a trial & made other camp mates suffer due to refusing to use the luxury bed, Scarlette was voted out as “a place in the sun” is a niche show and barely got screen time,’ one said.
Following her exit, Scarlette admitted that her social following served as a big contrast to her co-stars which included Boy George and Chris Moyles.

‘I’ve always come in here as an underdog,’ she said.
‘I’ve got the least profile of anybody else, you know, not everybody knows who I am. Hopefully they do now!
‘So I was never going to get the most votes. You know, even if you’re just looking at something like Instagram, I always have the least amount of followers,’ she added to The Sun.
During Monday’s This Morning, presenter Holly Willoughby addressed fuming fans after Scarlette’s exit, telling them to pick up the phone and vote.
‘But that’s what happens! We have this on Dancing On Ice and all these sorts of shows,’ she argued.

‘You can be in uproar, but if you didn’t pick up the phone and vote for somebody, this is what happens.’
Holly’s This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield pointed out that Babatunde Aleshe’s name being called out at that moment doesn’t necessarily mean he was actually the closest to Scarlette.

‘Although… we know that that’s not necessarily true. They have the bottom one and they pick a random person which is the most controversial,’ he said, while Holly – who hosted the show alongside Dec Donnelly in 2018 – insisted she couldn’t remember.
He added: ‘I’m pretty sure that it is not the bottom two.
