Most Black Friday offers are not cheaper – consumer group
Black Friday discounts may not be as genuine as they appear, but shoppers are being told as most deals are not genuine discounts.
Analysis of more than 200 offers last Black Friday found 98% were cheaper or the same price at other times in the year, consumer group Which? said.
UK shoppers are expected to hit the shops this Black Friday, with the turnout at 12.8% higher than in 2021, retail experts Springboard has said.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are some of the busiest dates in the retail calendar, and many are looking to make savings as the cost of living rises.
The rise in prices – the fastest rate in over 40 years – has prompted Christmas shoppers to search for savings. But consumer group Which? warned that Black Friday was “rarely the cheapest time to shop.”
