Matt Hancock appeared to wipe away tears of joy after escaping public elimination from the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The Conservative MP and former Health Secretary, 44, remains the jungle while TV presenter Scarlette Douglas became the second person to lose out.
Charlene White was the first celebrity to lose the public vote but the second to leave camp, after Olivia Attwood withdrew from the competition shortly after it kicked off..
Scarlette was clearly emotional about leaving the jungle earlier than expected, but during her departure from camp Hancock was seen wiping away tears.
As she crossed the famous bridge to speak to presenters Ant and Dec, the camera focused on her former campmates below, with Hancock front and centre.
However, not every viewer who spotted him seemingly wiping away tears was pleased to see him showing emotion after escaping elimination.

One viewer accused him of ‘playing the public like a fiddle’, while another said: ‘This clown told us how to live our lives for two years!’
After a public vote, it was left between Scarlette and comedian Babatunde Aleshe for the next person to leave I’m A Celebrity.
During Scarlette’s interview with Ant and Dec, she admitted she was ‘absolutely gutted’ to be leaving the reality series so early.

‘I’m not even going to lie about it – I know some people wanted to leave but I said “I’m not ready to go yet”. Those people are amazing and the jungle is incredible.’
Many viewers were left drying their own eyes after Scarlette’s departure, especially coming so soon after Charlene’s exit just two days earlier.

However, This Morning’s Holly Willoughby said that if viewers were upset about the outcomes of the votes then they should pick up the phone.
She said: ‘You can be in uproar, but if you didn’t pick up the phone and vote for somebody, this is what happens.’
I’m A Celebrity continues weeknights on ITV, and can also be watched on the ITV Hub.
