A 17-year-old boy has been killed in a suspected ‘targeted attack’ by the River Cam in Cambridge.
Three other teenagers, two aged 14 and one aged 17, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police were called by ambulance crews to reports of stabbing at Logan’s Meadow nature reserve in the suburb of Chesterton at 2.52pm yesterday.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene just four minutes later, sparking a murder probe.
A post-mortem examination is yet to take place, but police believe the attack was targeted.
Detectives from Cambridgeshire Police swooped on a house in the city at 11.30pm last night and arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of murder.
Two other boys, aged 14 and 17, were arrested at their homes in South Cambridgeshire around midnight.

All three remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough, a force spokesman confirmed.
Detective Superintendent Carl Foster: ‘We believe there were members of the public at the scene who spoke with paramedics but left before our officers arrived.
‘I am directly appealing for these people to make contact with us please.
‘I would appeal to anyone with information to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.
‘While we are unable to confirm the cause of death until a post-mortem examination has been conducted, we believe the boy was stabbed in a targeted attack.’
Leader of Cambridge City Council, Cllr Anna Smith, told the Cambridge News that the whole city will be ‘feeling a real sense of shock and grief at this terrible news.’
She added: ‘It’s not something we expect to happen here in Cambridge, and my heart really goes out to the victim’s family and his friends, and all those who will be affected.’
