According to Boy George’s goddaughter, he did I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! for the money – and who can blame him.
The eighties pop icon joined the likes of Chris Moyles, Mike Tindall, and Jill Scott in this year’s camp, as I’m A Celeb headed back to Australia for the first time in two years.
George has proven to be a controversial campmate and he’s been involved in a few minor squabbles over the past two weeks.
But, he’s delivered in the trials, well and truly going for it when eating the likes of vomit fruit and fermented plums (yuck) in an eating challenge.
Ahead of his stint in the jungle, it was reported that George would receive the highest paycheque in the show’s history.
After much speculation around how much he’ll be raking in, it’s thought George is earning a whopping £500k for taking on the gruesome trials and living in the wilderness for three weeks.

But, George’s goddaughter Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace isn’t surprised it was the payout that got him in the jungle, after he previously claimed he’d never do it.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: ‘Of course it was the money that got him in there!
‘He’s an absolute living legend and a diva, he’s not going to take a penny crumb.’
She added: ‘He’s an artist – reality stars are reality stars and that’s fine but people like him are one of a kind.’

Aisleyne has a career in her own right, as the 43-year-old is a TV personality, model, actress, and columnist who entered into the public eye in 2006 when she appeared on Big Brother.
She released an autobiography, Aisleyne: Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour, in 2009, in which she shared how her mum (Sophia Horgan) became pals with the Karma Chameleon singer.
‘Mum had met this tall, big-nosed Irish guy called George O’Dowd at the Tottenham. They were absolute bezzy mates for ages – way before the rest of the world met Boy George,’ she wrote.

‘She told me he would put me on his knee and sing to me. He would change my nappies, do my hair and dress me up like a little punk doll…
‘Then there was Siouxsie Sioux and Poly Styrene and all the other singers and Musicians… Johnny Rotten and some of the others in the Sex Pistols crew were in Mum’s gang as well.’

George was saved by the public in the first elimination of this year’s I’m A Celeb, as ‘camp mum’ Charlene White received the fewest votes.
The second elimination will take place on Sunday (November 20), with everyone hoping they won’t be the next one walking over that bridge.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
