Florence Welch has shared her heartbreak after being forced to cancel her UK tour due to injury.
The Florence + The Machine vocalist was due to kick off her tour tonight in London’s O2 Arena, before heading to Birmingham and Leeds next week, then Scotland the week after.
However, the You’ve Got The Love hitmaker, 36, has broken her foot, and wasn’t even aware while on stage last night.
Announcing the sad news to her fans that her tour cannot go ahead until she has recovered, she apologised profusely.
‘I’m so sorry to say that after an X ray it seems I was dancing on a broken foot last night’, the star wrote on Instagram.
‘It is not in my nature to postpone a show, and certainly not a UK tour, but I’m in pain and as dancers know, dancing on an injury is not a good idea. And have been told not to perform to avoid further damage.’

Advising fans on the next steps, she continued: ‘Please hang on to your tickets. We are working our hardest to reschedule these dates for next year and we will let you know as soon as possible.’
She added that her Dance Fever tour has been her ‘favourite show we have ever put on’, saying she loves the ‘communion’ with audiences and seeing their ‘beautiful faces shining.’
Florence signed off: ‘I love you so much, and I’m so sorry to anyone who is disappointed. My heart is aching. I can’t wait to be back on my feet and back in your arms. X x’.
Her sad statement was met with an outpouring of love from fans, who wished her a speedy recovery.
Many were also in disbelief that she managed to finish her show the previous night, despite being in pain and having a broken bone.
‘Can’t quite believe you still started running around the arena with a broken foot.. I’m so so sorry, hope you feel better soon and sending all my love’, commented one follower.
