Ukraine war: Kyiv not to blame for Poland missile – Zelensky
Ukraine’s president Zelensky has said he had “no doubts” that his country was not to blame for the missile strike that killed two people in Poland on Tuesday.
He said he had received assurances from his top commanders that “it wasn’t our missile” and has called for Ukrainian officials to be allowed to access the blast site and to be part of the investigation.
Nato chief Jens Stoltenberg said Kyiv’s air defence missiles were “most likely” to blame.
US President Joe Biden has also doubted Mr Zelensky’s statement that the missile wasn’t from Ukraine, telling reporters “that’s not the evidence.”
The missile blast occurred on a farm in Przewodow from Poland’s border with Ukraine.
Ukraine’s air defence systems were activated on Tuesday after Russia launched massive missile strikes. The attack caused a massive outcry internationally and raised fears of a dangerous escalation in the war.
