Mike Tindall might have found himself in hot water with his wife after he declared that ‘politicians are f***ers’ on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.
While the former England rugby player isn’t a working member of the Royal family and isn’t restricted by the protocols that suggest they should not comment at all on political matters, a royal expert says he might be getting a ‘talking to’ from his wife Zara, the niece of King Charles.
On Tuesday night’s episode, Mike was chatting to comedian Seann Walsh when he used some colourful language to express his feelings about politics after Matt Hancock claimed Tory members voted for Liz Truss to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister to punish Rishi Sunak.
In a candid chat with his campmate, Mike said: ‘I just think all politicians are f*****s.’
‘I mean for them to even have the conversation just because they’re all Boris fans that didn’t like how Boris was ousted that you won’t pick the best person for the job, that just sums politicians up,’ he added.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has said while he hasn’t breached any royal protocols as he is not bound by them, Mike may want to think a little bit more carefully about what he says in front of the cameras.
‘I think he has gone a bit far simply because he’s got a laddish persona and what you’ve got there are comments that can spark articles that can be read time and time again and I think they will,’ he said.

‘I think Zara will probably give him a talking to when he returns.
‘That comment was embarrassing.’
However, he did sympathise with Mike, saying that he might have simply forgotten what he should be discreet about.
‘He is the jungle and like any extreme environment, sometimes you don’t make wise decisions,’ he added.
‘I think they are silly and embarassing, but no-one [in the Royal family] will make much of it.’
Mike’s comments came after Conservative Party MP Hancock was quizzed about the current state of politics in the country.

The campmates pondered whether Prime Minister Sunak was still in power given the Conservative Party’s track record of literally getting through PMs quicker than the shelf-life of a lettuce.
They then asked the politician ‘what went wrong’ with the recent instability that saw Truss leave Downing Street in record time.
‘In a way they were unlucky in that global interest rates went up just at the time they were bringing in financial measures where they said they were going to do all of these expensive things and we’re not going to say how we are going to pay for them,’ Hancock said.
But he added that Truss’ ‘political career was over’.
‘No ambiguity at all,’ he said.
When asked by Sue Cleaver why Tory party members went for the ‘less experienced’ person for the job, Hancock said he believed it was a result of Sunak not supporting Johnson.

‘I think it was all about people seeing Rishi as wielding the knife against Boris,’ he said.
Charlene White added: ‘One could argue they decided to punish the country by putting someone in place who wasn’t as experienced.’
‘That implies a maligned motive which definitely isn’t fair, but they definitely put being disloyal to Boris as a negative,’ Hancock responded.
