Anne Heche’s estate is being sued by the woman whose home was damaged following the actress’s fatal car crash on August 5 of this year.
The 53-year-old barrelled into a one-storey home in Los Angeles last summer and caused the house to catch on fire.
Lynne Michele reportedly filed a lawsuit against the late performer and demanded ‘at least $2 million (£1.65m) ’ in damages for the trauma and stress caused following the collision.
Renting the home from John and Jennifer Durand, the plaintiff was inside the Mar Vista house when Heche’s car crashed through the front wall and almost rammed into Lynne and her two pet dogs.
The filing was made by Lynne’s attorneys in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County on November 9, as was stated in documents obtained by People.
Requesting compensation for ‘negligence’, ‘infliction of emotional distress’ and ‘trespass’, the claimant said she: ‘was working from home when she was stunned by the dramatic force of Heche’s vehicle slamming through the front wall and driving through the living room, kitchen, home office, and primary room closet before settling into the laundry/storage room of her house’.

Describing the extent of the fatal crash’s damage, the document detailed how: ‘The front end of the car, incredibly, came to a halt just feet away from Plaintiff and her pets: two dogs named Bree and Rueben and a tortoise named Marley.
‘By God’s grace, Plaintiff and her three pets barely escaped physical impact from the car crash,’ the report continued.
Lynne was further noted as being ‘terrified, severely traumatized, and without a place to live.
‘She was only wearing sweatpants and a tanktop and did not even have shoes on.

‘As a result of the deadly incident caused by Heche, the home and all of Plaintiff’s personal property were completely burned and destroyed, including an entire lifetime of possessions, pictures and mementos, all her business papers and equipment, her laptop and iPad, all of her clothing, basic necessities, and household items.’
Listing the aftermath of the crash on their client’s psyche, the claimant’s lawyers’ wrote in the document that she had been: ‘unable to sleep and is battling acute anxiety and depression.
‘She has also been unable to operate her home business because of her physical displacement and fragile mental health caused by Defendants’ irresponsible behavior.
‘She has received counselling but remains traumatized by Defendants’ actions’.
The lawsuit comes after the injured party posted a video offering her condolences to Heche’s loved ones in which she said: ‘This entire situation is tragic and there really are just no words’.
