Carol McGiffin made her thoughts on ageing very clear in a rant about Julia Fox, who recently claimed it’s ‘hot’ to age.
The Uncut Gems (excuse us, Uncah Jahms) star recently turned into a silver fox as she rocked grey hair and a bizarre sleeve-skirt (don’t ask) in an ode to ageing when she took to the red carpet at the CFDA Fashion Awards.
She told Vogue at the time: ‘This is a love letter to getting older. We’re embracing getting older.’
Julia, 32, then took to TikTok to declare: ‘If I see another product that says “anti-aging” on the label, I’m suing. I’m going to sue because I’m gonna age regardless of if I put the f**king $500 serum on my face.
‘And you all f**king know it, and we know it, so let’s stop lying to ourselves. Getting old is f**king hot. It is sexy. It’s probably the sexiest time in life, actually, because being pretty and hot in your twenties is the f**king trenches and I’m not going back there.’
However, Carol, 62, isn’t having any of it.
Speaking on Loose Women, she ranted: ‘You can say that when you’re 30, can’t you?’
She added: ‘It’s rubbish getting old, it’s not good. It’s alright, I’m doing okay, but I don’t want my knees to crunch when I go up the stairs, I don’t want all those other things to happen. I don’t want my hair to go thin, I don’t want all that stuff to happen. But I don’t see how a product can change that.’
Carol added of Julia: ‘She started off well because she said it was about the product, and then she just said, “Ageing is great, ageing is hot.” She’s 30 years old! Tell me that when you’re 62, love.’

Julia has continued to cause a stir with her out-there red carpet looks, deciding recently that maybe she’s actually her own muse.
In a recent appearance at New York Fashion Week, the actress was quizzed on who inspires her, giving main character energy in her answer once more.
‘Who’s my muse? Oh my god, tough question,’ she began on the red carpet.
‘I don’t know, maybe I’m museless,’ she told ET Canada.
When the interviewer suggested she could be her ‘own muse’, Julia responded: ‘Yeah maybe I am my own muse, honestly, yeah. Facts.’
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
