Matt Hancock has taken on trial after trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this series, completing six Bushtucker Trials after entering camp as a late arrival.
The former health secretary has been bonding with is fellow campmates over recent weeks and opening up on his scandals to the likes of Boy George, Chris Moyles, and Jill Scott.
In Monday night’s episode, the politician took on his sixth consecutive Bushtucker trial, facing snakes and critters in an underground pit.
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec after the gruelling trial, he said the thought of his girlfriend, Gina Coladangelo, spurred him on.
After securing seven out of a possible 11 stars, Hancock revealed what he used to get himself through the challenge, saying: ‘It was definitely the calmest I’ve been in a trial.
‘I thought of my children, I thought of Gina, I thought of everybody I loved. I just tried to be calm.’

Hancock was referring to his former political aide, with whom he broke social distancing restrictions last year, ultimately leading to his resignation from his role as health secretary.
Leaked CCTV pictures published in The Sun in June 2021 showed Hancock kissing Coladangelo, 45, in his departmental office while he was married to wife Martha Millar, with whom he has three children.

The Tory Party member’s girlfriend is now planning on being there for her other half when he leaves the jungle, either as an evictee or the new King of the Jungle.
‘That’ll be the best thing about being kicked out, seeing her on the bridge,’ he said when the news of his signing was revealed.

Coladangelo was hired as Hancock’s aide during his tenure as Health Secretary. At the time their affair began, Coladangelo was also married to Oliver Tress, who currently owns fashion retail business Oliver Bonas.
She was forced to resign from her position upon Hancock’s resignation, but the couple remain together as of November 2022.
