Fans of comedian Peter Kay are absolutely raging as many missed out on tickets for his long-awaited reunion tour.
The acclaimed comedian is embarking on his first stand-up tour in 12 years with dates across the UK and a residency in London.
However there was chaos this week as tens of thousands of people tried to access presale tickets, with many left empty-handed, while the O2 Priority site had its ‘highest demand in 15 years.’
Peter himself had assured fans that there were ‘plenty of tickets left’ and not to worry if they had been disappointed in the presale, as they still had a chance in the general sale.
Well, tickets to the comedian’s comeback tour went on general sale on Saturday at 10am, and surprise surprise, demand was high.
Plenty of fans flocked to Twitter to share their despair at not being able to buy tickets, or being stuck behind over 100,000 other people in a queue, while others raged at price gouging on other ticket sites.

Comedian Jason Manford tried to raise hackles by writing he was ‘lucky enough to get 2x Peter Kay tickets,’ before adding: ‘For sale 2x Peter Kay tickets, £3500 each ono.’
And newsreader Dan Walker joked trying to get ticket was ‘like trying to get an appointment at the GP,’ writing: ‘Please hold… there are currently 170,000 people ahead of you in the queue.’
Sky News’ Victoria Derbyshire meanwhile wasn’t too confident in her chances, as she shared that there were ‘93,603 people ahead of me’ in the queue.
Thousands of stand-up fans despaired about not getting tickets, flocking to Twitter to rage at everything from Ticketmaster to ticket touts – though many also tried to see the funny side.
One shared a photo of man putting on a clown wig and makeup, writing: ‘Me still waiting in the queue for Peter Kay tickets knowing full well they’ve all sold out.’

Another said they were ‘not convinced we’re going to get any peter Kay tickets,’ sharing a photo of 197,999 people ahead of them in the queue.
One raged the system was an ‘absolute joke,’ telling Ticketmaster: ‘If it’s sold out, it’s sold out, but please come up with a better system that you don’t waste people’s time by putting them in a queue for over an hour when there’s no tickets left.
During the kay-os (we are sorry) Peter made the surprise announcement of extra dates for his London residency, due to the overwhelming demand from fans.
The comedian, 49, tweeted: “Extra dates added to Peter Kay’s arena tour!” and confirmed two more shows had been added to his London residency at the O2 Arena.
An additional show has been added in London’s O2 on Saturday, December 16 2023, as well as one more on Saturday, January 6 2024 – you can check out the tickets on the Axs website.
Many reported seeing messages on the Ticketmaster website telling them there were more than 200,000 people ahead of them in the virtual line during the chaos of the tickets going live on Saturday morning.

The website tweeted: “As expected, Peter Kay is super popular this morning. To make it as fair as possible, we have put everyone in a queue. Be patient and don’t refresh or you’ll lose your place.’
However it was too late for some, with some tickets already on resale sites for hundreds of pounds over face value.
