Sue Cleaver has revealed the amazing coincidence that led to her finding her birth mother completely by accident.
The Coronation Street star, 59, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, revealed that she had stumbled across her birth mother by chance when she was in her 20s.
She explained to her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here campmates that she had been at drama school when the Royal Exchange in Manchester were looking for actors for ‘tiny parts’ for the theatre production of Oedipus and she decided to audition.
When she arrived on the first day, one of the actors said to another member of the cast: ‘Oh my god, she’s the absolute double of my wife when I met her,’ before asking for her date of birth.
He also asked Sue where she was born and she added: ‘He rung his wife and he said, “I’ve found her.”’
The rest of the camp were left speechless at the lucky coincidence, with Babatunde Aleshe exclaiming: ‘That’s spooky. That’s mad,’ as Jill Scott added: ‘Nah, that has just given me goosebumps. That is the most incredible story I think I’ve ever heard.’

Sue continued: ‘She was 16 or 17 when she had me. I think she did what she had to do. I grew up in a very loving family.
‘It’s uncanny and I’ve got two half sisters who are all in the business. It’s lovely because my mum and my birth mother, we’ve all met, been out for dinner, we’ve all kept in touch.
‘We’ve all had a lovely relationship ever since, so it’s a nice ending. I’m very lucky.’
Sue admitted in the Bush Telegraph that she wouldn’t usually open up about her life publicly, adding: ‘I’m usually a very private person, I just feel really really safe and supported.
‘It just natural that these things come out, it felt good to share.’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV on Saturday at 9pm.
