Gemma Collins is using candles at home to help offset the rising cost of living and she insists even the GC is concerned.
The 41-year-old TV star is rumoured to be worth millions thanks to her reality career and other projects, but Gemma is still feeling the pinch of the cost of living crisis.
She said: ‘I might be the GC but I am even in the cost of living crisis. I am literally turning all my lights off. It’s not a joke.’
Gemma – who has shared a picture on Instagram using candles to light her home – is worried about the potential impact of the ongoing crisis, but she is still determined to enjoy Christmas.
She said December 25 will be a particularly “special” day this year, as she urged people to ditch presents and focus on doing their ‘bit’.
She told The Sun newspaper: ‘When I am watching the news and see people losing their houses and freezing cold. This is serious. I am really trying to do my bit this year.

‘That is why Christmas is going to be so special because we are all sort of up against it and f**k presents.’
Meanwhile, Gemma recently revealed that she was left feeling ‘shocked and embarrassed’ when her bank accounts were frozen.

The outspoken star revealed that her assets were cut off and she ‘cried on the phone’ to the bank when she was trying to buy a property in 2020.
Gemma – who shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex – said: ‘This happened to me two years ago. The shock, the embarrassment, I couldn’t sleep, I felt sick, I felt like I was dodgy, like, “Am I a criminal?”
‘You know what, the guy at the end of the phone, I was so distressed, I was crying on the phone, I was saying, “I’m going to lose my house, I’m going to lose my house.” They are reading from a script, no emotion, telling you, “Go into the branch.” ‘
Meanwhile, Gemma has revealed this week she is trying Slimming World in a bid to lose weight after struggling for years with hormone imbalance.
She said: ‘My weight goes up and down, it’s a constant battle for me. Do I feel great in myself? Yeah. Am I continuing to try and lose weight, get it down and keep it stable? Yeah. It is something is am always going to struggle with.’
