Carol McGiffin is ‘disgusted’ at the fact Matt Hancock is a part of this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and is astounded that it’s allowed,
The former Health Secretary joined the cast of the 2022 series on Wednesday night, despite the fact he is a sitting MP and Parliament is not on recess, something he was challenged on by Charlene White upon his arrival.
His decision to join the show has caused outrage at home, with the public, constituents and fellow Tories condemning the Conservative MP – and now the Loose Women panel have ripped into him.
On Thursday’s episode, the first since Hancock entered the jungle, Carol, Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha and Judi Love had a heated discussion about the ITV show, with most agreeing he shouldn’t be included.
Nadia revealed she spent ‘the first five minutes laughing’ at Seann Walsh’s ‘absolute relief another cheater was in to take the heat off’ – the comedian was seen kissing his Strictly Come Dancing partner while both were in relationships, and Hancock was caught having an affair while Health Secretary.
She said she then stopped laughing, saying his comment about the government now being ‘stable’ reminded her of the situation, labeling him ‘an egotistical, hapless fool.’

Carol did not agree with this take, however, arguing: ‘He’s not a fool. He’s doing a party political broadcast.
‘It shouldn’t be allowed,’ she raged. ‘I’m absolutely disgusted.’
Judi agreed, and said the public get ‘manipulated’ into thinking ‘some of these MPs and leaders are bumbling fools’ but they’re not.
‘They are competent. They’ve been groomed to do it since they were young,’ she said, adding he is ‘so privileged he can’t even see it.’

‘The country is in disarray… and he can sit there, on a show, being paid and still turn around and say everything’s alright.’
Judi then did an impression of Hancock and Seann screaming during their first Bushtucker trial, which had the audience – and most of the panel – in stitches, however to Carol it was no laughing matter.
‘Stop laughing, it’s not funny!’ she dispaired, arguing if the MP had ‘a shred’ of dignity he would have said no to the show.
Viewers, naturally, piled on to vote for him to take on two Bushtucker trials in a row (Picture: ITV)
‘I’m surprised someone didn’t walk out and leave,’ she said of the other contestants.
‘I’d say, “stuff your fee I’m going.” I know he’s not solely responsible but he is responsible for the pain and anguish people suffered [during the pandemic.]’
Host Kaye took a slightly different view to the other panelists, pointing out that ‘over the last two years people judged him as a politician,’ but ‘now he’s just going to be judged as a man.’

She explained: ‘I trust the British public to come to their own conclusions, because people always reveal themselves on that show.’
The public have given their opinion on the MP in no uncertain matter, as he’s set to take on his second Bushtucker trial in a row on Thursday night,
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV
