Clive Myrie has been praised by Mastermind viewers for asking a teary contestant if she was ok.
The BBC news reporter, who was recently honoured with an award for his reporting from Ukraine, was hosting an episode of the quiz show on Tuesday.
Contestant Hilary appeared to be incredibly nervous when she spoke to Myrie, however, she managed to get 11 questions right in the specialist round.
Shortly after, she returned back to her seat, and appeared to be close to tears.
‘Hilary can I just check, are you okay?’ Myrie leaned over to ask before moving on.

And the kind gesture didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.
‘Clive Myrie is a top man. Loved the way he asked if the first contestant was OK,’ one person wrote.
Another penned: ‘If Clive Myrie gently asked if I was OK when I was close to tears I would immediately start sobbing.’
‘Nice touch by Clive Myrie in tonight’s Mastermind to ask how the contestant was after her first round. The woman was clearly very nervous and it was good to see Clive asking after her,’ someone else wrote.

Myrie took over from John Humphrys last year, after the presenter called time on his 18-year run on the BBC quiz show.
He said in a statement: ‘What a privilege it is to take on this new role. Mastermind with at the time Magnus Magnusson formed the backdrop to my youth, and now to be at the helm is a dream come true. I’m excited and can’t wait to get stuck in.’
Mastermind is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
