Graham Potter lauded Arsenal after they beat his Chelsea side (Picture: Getty)
Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has slammed Chelsea boss Graham Potter for his post-match interview after losing to the Gunners on Sunday.
Gabriel Magalhaes scored to secure a crucial 1-0 victory for Mikel Arteta’s league leaders, who are top of the Premier League after their opening 13 games.
Chelsea, meanwhile, who replaced Thomas Tuchel with Potter in September, are down in seventh after a poor start to the season.
Speaking after the defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, Potter said: ‘We played against a team in a really good moment and a confident team, so credit to them.
‘We have to look at where the two teams are at. Arsenal are in a good moment and have worked together for a long time. We’re in different phase.
‘We lacked quality but the effort was there and we were beaten by the better team today.
‘We huffed and puffed but you could see the difference between the two teams in terms of confidence, structure and work together.

‘We’re not in a fantastic moment as we speak and in the end Arsenal deserved to win because they were the better team overall.
‘We have to take that and use it as motivation to improve. Arsenal defend well, they press well and make it difficult for you to create chances.’
Parlour, though, is not impressed with those comments, as the former Gunner told talkSPORT: ‘I listened to the interview after, all he did was talk about Arsenal and how good they are.
‘He can’t do that. You’re at Chelsea. This is Arsenal vs Chelsea. Chelsea have won multiple trophies over the years, the standards are so high.
‘That’s the problem you’ve got. You can’t be coming out and praising the other team. They didn’t lay a glove on Arsenal.
‘How many times did Arsenal nick the ball back when [Chelsea] players were looking up, and there’s no movement.
‘There’s no-one running in behind. They can nick the ball back and then suddenly you’re back at Chelsea’s back four again.’
