Vera Wang proved age is just a number as she showcased what ageing in reverse looks like on the CFDA Fashion Awards red carpet.
The 73-year-old sported long pigtails, big black shades and a baby doll-style dress with sky-high heels and thigh-grazing stockings to top it all off.
Appearing to have sourced the fountain of youth, the celebrated designer wowed in her all-black ensemble at the event that previously honoured her work with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Effortlessly chic and cool, the native New Yorker didn’t let herself down adopting a look that incorporated intricate detail and the air of a woman who embraces fashion’s ever-evolving trends.
Admitting in the past she was ‘shocked’ about the reaction to people finding out her age, Vera said she never thinks that people are looking at her as the focal point of any picture she posts.
Previously, Vera brilliantly explained that ‘work, sleep, not too much sun and a vodka cocktail’ were the keys to her timeless appearance.

But unfortunately for us all, exercise also plays a part – although Vera insists her workouts are only ‘sporadic’.
The red carpet legend credited ‘muscle memory’ for keeping her body in check, after training as a competitive figure skater when she was younger and dancing at the Balanchine School of American Ballet.
Boasting quite the CV, the designer spent a huge chunk of her early career as Vogue’s youngest-ever fashion editor and stylist.

Joining the fold at 23 years old, she spent 16 years with the magazine before moving to direct design at Ralph Lauren.
Opening her first flagship store in the 90s, Vera took over Madison Avenue and revolutionised bridal wear for women.
Since that first opening, the fashion icon has transformed her brand into a household name and celebrated 20 years of business in 2010.
Stopping for pictures on the carpet with Vanessa Hudgens, the pair made for an aesthetic duo with the actress in a black slip skirt and lacey bra of the same colour.

The carpet was rolled out for the Council of Fashion Designers of America which is a non-profit trade association.
Supporting over 450 influential designers, the council is made up of key players in womenswear, jewellery, accessories and menswear.
The aim of the council is to strengthen and grow America’s fashion on a global economic scale.
Held at Casa Cipriani in New York City, the 2022 awards brought out a host of stars dressed to the nines in fashion’s finest.
Among those in attendance were Cher who recently hit headlines for her new romance, Amanda Seyfried, Addison Rae, Anna Wintour, and Khloe and Kim Kardashian.
Kim was honoured this year with the Innovation Award for her shapewear brand, Skims and was supported at the event by a host of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
