Gino D’Acampo left Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in a state of shock by the advice he decided to impart on a caller during This Morning, advising that they masturbate to calm their nerves.
On Tuesday’s edition of the ITV programme, Gino was on hand to help answer calls from viewers with all sorts of questions, addressing cooking-related issues as well as some pre-wedding jitters.
One woman called Gemma who called in explained that her big day was coming up in two weeks, but she was experiencing nerves in the lead-up to exchanging her vows with her partner.
‘I’m just a little bit nervous, a little bit stressed. I’m just wondering how you would cope with it,’ she said with genuine concern.
In response, Gino stressed that it’s perfectly normal to feel nervous before your wedding, before advising that Gemma refrain from listening too much to her mum or her mother-in-law.
‘Do what you want to do, stop listening to people around you, and relax. Find something that makes you relax. Anything will do. I’ve got an idea…’ the chef continued.

‘A long walk?’ Holly asked as she chimed into the conversation.
‘I was thinking something different, but if you want to go for a long walk, you go for a long walk,’ Gino replied.
From the expression dawning on Phillip’s face, it looked as though he’d guessed exactly what the chef was going to say.

Gino then leant towards Holly, speaking more quietly – but still at a loud enough level so it could be picked up by the cameras – as he asked: ‘Can you say the word masturbate?’
Holly guffawed in shock over Gino’s question, while an exasperated-looking Phillip shook his head as the honorary agony aunt questioned: ‘No, you can’t say that?’
‘No, don’t say that,’ Phillip replied, while the chef then piped up to add: ‘Go for a long walk Gemma! Long walk will do the trick.’
One Twitter user commented on the exchange by speculating that Phillip was ‘already thinking about the Ofcom complaints’.
‘Gino just said masturbate on #ThisMorning,’ another surprised viewer said. Just another day on This Morning!
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
