Rolls-Royce, Airbus and Heathrow are all calling for nominations for diversity champions in the technology and engineering sector ahead of a prestigious awards ceremony.
Nominations for the 2023 Engineering Talent Awards are officially open, which aims to celebrate the achievements of both individuals and organisations who have promoted equality.
The prestigious awards night recognises how people have driven inclusivity forward within a sector largely dominated by white men.
This year, Costain Group’s disability and wellbeing network was honoured with the Overall Excellence in Engineering Award 2022 for their work in supporting people with down’s syndrome and autism into the industry.
The award was presented by Metro.co.uk’ s executive editor Richard Hartley-Parkinson.
And now the search is on to find next year’s winners.

Awards founder Dr Mark McBride-Wright said: ‘The awards aim to raise the profile of the engineering and technology professions across the UK and highlight diversity in engineering on a national platform.
‘Through showcasing role models and inspiring people, we can celebrate the diversity of organisations and engineers.
‘We will shine a light on the individuals and organisations working to promote and diversify in the engineering and technology sector while acknowledging milestones in business, media, politics and grassroots activism.’
The gay safety engineer said he created the organisation after seeing the practical and safety consequences of an industry historically dominated by one demographic.
Other winners this year included Chrisma Jain, a chartered mechanical engineer who is a senior project leader at Transport For London.
She took home the Engineer of the Year prize for her strong advocacy in changing the working environment.
Nominations for next year’s awards opened on November 2, and details on how to enter can be found on the Engineering Talent Awards website.
