Time for touchdown! The stars of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 have been spotted arriving for their first trial of the series – and boy is it a big one.
On the first series to take place in Australia since 2019, the celebrities will meet in their everyday gladrags before being escorted in helicopters to a challenge that will test their mental strength, as well as how well they fare with heights.
In first look pictures captured on site, comedian Babatunde Aléshé, England Lioness star Jill Scott and Loose Women presenter Charlene White were spotted meeting for the first time, before taking on the dreaded walk the plank task, named The Ledge this year.
Babatunde looked suave in an off-white jacket and black trousers, while Charlene donned a sheer pink shirt and white trousers, and Jill wore a pair of hot pink bottoms with a black shirt.
While they might not have looked like they were dressed for any physically-demanding challenges, that didn’t stop them from being strapped into their harnesses, preparing to drop from terrifying heights.
When they were still on the ground, Babatunde and Jill seemed to get on like a house on fire, playfully running around each other, with the footballer and Celebrity Gogglebox star seen grinning from ear to ear.

However, Babatunde’s smile was wiped off his face when he stood on the edge of the ledge for the walk the plank trial… and was unable to see it through.
The 36-year-old looked troubled as he stood on the side, his left hand resting on his face as an I’m A Celebrity employee gripped onto his arm for support.
In another shot, the comedian held his head in his hands while Jill, 35, and Charlene, 42, dropped on ropes from their planks, appearing to enjoy the daring challenge.
It’s been claimed Babatunde deliberated over the trial for 45 minutes, before deciding he wasn’t up to it.

Nonetheless, he still cheered on Jill and Charlene while standing on the sidelines with I’m A Celebrity co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
While riding in the helicopter, Jill – won the Euros this year with her football teammates – was photographed waving from the window.
Babatunde can be forgiven for feeling absolutely terrified about The Ledge trial, giving they were tasked with walking out on a plank at the top of a 32-storey building.

Other celebrities who took on the trial included royal Mike Tindall, singer Boy George and Love Island star Olivia Attwood.
Ahead of the show, Babatunde admitted that he’d be doing ‘a lot of screaming’, and confessed that the trials he was dreading the most were the ones when contestants have to lie down in small confined spaces with all sorts of creatures.

‘People are going to get to know me through this show a bit better and I just want to enjoy everything. I don’t want to be King of the jungle,’ he said.
‘I am quite happy to go back to normal life afterwards. But it will be a great adventure and my wife is excited and happy I am doing it.’
I’m A Celebrity 2022 launches on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
