Britney Spears is uplifting women by heaping praise on Hailey Bieber since being forced to clarify she never insulted Selena Gomez.
The Toxic singer, who was released from a 13-year conservatorship in 2021, has been using her newfound freedom to speak her mind – and show her body – online.
She has often hit out at her estranged family members who kept her under the controversial court order via Instagram, however last week she was accused of criticising fellow musician and friend Selena.
Britney later denied the accusations, clarifying that the lengthy Instagram caption she had written ‘had nothing to do with anyone specific at all.’
Now, after being accused of hitting down at women, Britney has piled praise on model Hailey, labeling her ‘the coolest and kindest’ person.
Again taking to Instagram, Britney shared a series of old snaps of herself modeling a black suit, recalling how it was her ‘first time wearing a suit with shoulder pads.’

‘I also looked at photos of @haileybieber and saw the f*****g coolest blazers with shoulder pads !!! She’s honestly the coolest and kindest … so wearing this suit like her I also felt kinda cool myself !!!’
The star also spoke in a rare conciliatory tone about her mother, Lynn Spears, recalling: ‘Shoulder pads used to be really in during the 80’s !!! I remember my mom having these big cushions on her shoulders when I was younger.’
While Britney’s post was positive, the comments section, naturally, descended into arguments, with some saying she was now talking about Hailey after ‘attacking’ Selena.
‘She isn’t attacking, she said how much she loved seeing Hailey in [the blazers,’ an exasperated fan replied.
To which one responded: ‘She could have mentioned ANYONE in the fashion industry but she chose to address Selena’s nemesis .. c’mon guys!!’
Hailey and Selena are not ‘nemeses’ and recently posed for photos together during an event, which could have ended any rumours of bad blood between the pair over Justin Bieber, who is Hailey’s husband and Selena’s ex.
However it’s apparent that didn’t quite work.
Fans had become convinced Britney was slamming Selena for a speech she made six years ago where the Only Murders In The Building star told audiences: ‘I don’t wanna see your bodies on Instagram. I wanna see what’s in here,’ gesturing at her heart.

Out of the blue, Britney had written on Instagram: ‘‘Don’t you just love the nerve of women who stand firmly getting awards and speak on their beliefs about not showing their bodies on instagram ???!!!!!’
‘They say “This is NOT something I would do” yet those women are the very ones who get 4 million dollar budget videos made about sucking and licking on homemade ice cream!!!!’, she added, appearing to reference Selena’s collaboration with BLACKPINK in 2020, titled Ice Cream.
She later clarified: ‘What I say had nothing to do with anyone specific at all… it was clearly a subject in hand all women have had to deal with…’
Despite the positive comment, fans naturally began arguing under Britney’s post (Picture: Britney Spears/ Instagram)

Britney added: ‘If anybody knows what judgement feels like I’m sure Selena has gone through something pretty similar.’
She went on to ‘apologise for my ignorance’ and admitted she ‘didn’t even see’ the Ice Cream music video Selena was part of.
‘I would like to tell Selena which she’s probably not even aware of trash news that her music has gotten me through lots and thank you again for making my dreams come true by coming to my wedding… you’re one person I have always wanted to meet and my dream came true and I will never forget it!!!’, she penned sweetly.

Britney said Selena ‘probably isn’t even aware’ of the ‘nonsense’ reports, but then sent out a message to her fellow women.
‘I would like to tell other women to lift each other up…’ she wrote. ‘We are all in this together, life is too short to be judgemental! Women lift each other up higher to inspire each other!!!’
