Rio Ferdinand believes Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and all the forwards at Tottenham will be frustrated with the style of play at Tottenham under Antonio Conte.
Spurs are having a solid season so far, sitting third in the Premier League after 13 games and going into a crunch Champions League match on Tuesday, which they must just avoid a defeat at Marseille to progress to the knockout stages.
Only the top two in the Premier League – Arsenal and Manchester City – have scored more goals than Tottenham, but they have been accused of a defensive and somewhat dull style of play under the Italian boss.
Kane has scored 10 league goals so far this campaign, only behind Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot, but Ferdinand believes he and his fellow forwards will be frustrated under Conte.
‘What do you want? Do you want success and take a bit away from the style, or do you want to go back to playing good football and don’t really win much. That’s something you can ask the fans,’ Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
‘If you look at it as a player. As a player, I think some players in that squad will be frustrated with the way they’re playing.
‘If you look at Son, Kane and all the strikers in that team, they’ll be sitting there going…well Kane ain’t going to be near the top of the goal charts.

‘Well Haaland’s obviously breezing it, but Kane would want to be having that fight and having that argument. At the moment he’s a bit hamstrung.
‘When you watch him sometimes he’s almost like a defensive midfielder, the positions he’s playing, due to the structure.’
