Liz Truss sat ghostlike as the new chancellor shredded her tax cuts and energy price freeze – but has vowed not to quit, according to The Sun. 

The paper’s front page features an image of her seated next to the chancellor as he scrapped her mini-budget – the PM looks washed out and pale. And whilst she won’t quit she has apologised for the mess. 

She is described as “clinging to power” as her “enemies” are searching but struggling to find a candidate or mechanism to boot her from office.
