Boris Johnson took a parting shot at Nicola Sturgeon as he delivered his last speech from No 10 as Prime Minister this morning.

Mr Johnson celebrated his government’s record on Brexit, supporting Ukraine and the Covid vaccine rollout in his farewell address. But he made a dig at the Scottish First Minister, who is pushing for another independence referendum, warning bids to break up the UK will “never ever succeed”.
Mr Johnson said: “And by the way … as I leave, I believe our union is so strong that those who want to break it up, they’ll keep trying, but they will never, ever succeed.”
Tory MPs and officials gathered on Downing Street to watch the valedictory speech, with Mr Johnson leaving to rapturous applause.
