KABUL: 63 PEOPLE KILLED AT A WEDDING, ISIS CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY
CNN reports, ISIS has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at a wedding in Kabul on Saturday. The deadly blast killed 63 people and wounded 182 amongst the victims were women and children. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack. The terror group said a Pakistani fighter detonated an explosive vest during the gathering of Shia Muslims. They claimed a car bombing followed the initial attack.

HONG KONG: HUGE PEACEFUL RALLY, DESPITE BEIJING WARNING
France 24 reports, organisers say the massive turnout for Sunday’s rally mobilised more than 1 million people. Despite warnings from Beijing, there were an estimated 128,000 people in the city’s Victoria Park at the height of the protest. Pro-democracy activists flooded the streets, showing the territory leaders the movement still has wide public support, despite growing violence and Beijing’s warnings. The rally was, what organisers the Civil Human Rights Front described as a return to the “peaceful” origins of the leaderless movement.

UN APPEALS FOR MORE AID FOR VENEZUELAN REFUGEES
Aljazeera says the UN has appealed for more humanitarian aid for Venezuelan refugees pouring into neighbouring countries. The sudden influx is overwhelming social services and causing local tensions. The Brazilian border town, Pacaraima, has seen the arrival of more than 500 Venezuelans a day. Local residents are unhappy and protesting the arrival. At the start of the year, the UN and NGOs put out an appeal for $770m and have received less than $180m.

TRUMP ACTUALLY CONSIDERING GREENLAND PURCHASE
RT News says President Trump’s interest in purchasing Greenland is no joke. The White House economic adviser confirmed the US president is thinking about it. “I don’t want to predict an outcome. I just know the president, who knows a thing or two about buying real estate, wants to take a look at a potential Greenland purchase.” According to his logic, Denmark should sell it to the US because “Denmark is an ally.” He calls Greenland a “strategic place” with a lot of “valuable minerals.”
