Jonnie Irwin has received a huge outpouring of kind messages and support after revealing his terminal cancer diagnosis.
The TV estate agent, who fronts Channel 4’s A Place In The Sun and BBC show Escape to the Country, has been given just months to live as the father-of-three has confirmed the cancer in his lung has spread to his brain.
After Jonnie, 48, revealed the devastating news, plenty of his colleagues and fellow presenters have thrown their support behind him during such a difficult time.
Responding on Instagram, presenter Jasmine Harman said: ‘Words can’t fix much, but what lovely words of support you have had here Jonnie. I know you know this already, but I am here for you my dear friend, and Jess and the boys. So, so brave. Sending lots of love. Speak soon.’
Former Homes Under The Hammer star Lucy Alexander added: ‘Jonnie. I get so much joy watching you & your boys on here. You’re one hellava flippin amazeballs presenter and I’m sending so soooo much love & strength.’
‘Love you guys so much,’ wrote Escape to the Country’s Nicki Chapman, while former colleague Sonali Shah said: ‘Love, always.’

Meanwhile, another former colleague commented: ‘Jonnie, I can’t believe it! I’m so so sorry to read this, it was genuinely such a pleasure to work with you on Escape and never in a million years would I think I’d see this, it’s just so cruel, you’re such a gem!
‘Sending so much love and strength to your family’.
Jonnie, who is trying his best to maintain a positive attitude, has chosen to keep his diagnosis private until now, but he opened up after wanting to ‘get the monkey off my back’ and speak about it.

A keen sportsman, the star married wife Jessica Holmes, 40, in 2016 and they share three sons – Rex, three, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
He told Hello!: ‘I don’t know how long I have left, but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I’m living with cancer, not dying from it.
‘I set little markers – things I want to be around for. I got into the habit of saying, “Don’t plan ahead because I might not be well enough.” But now I want to make plans.

‘I want to make memories and capture these moments with my family because the reality is, my boys are going to grow up not knowing their dad and that breaks my heart.’
Jonnie has been undergoing chemotherapy and he’s continued to work throughout, with cancer drugs helping to prolong his prognosis.
Speaking about why he wants to announce his cancer to the world, he admitted it felt like he was ‘carrying a dirty secret’ and he wants to now ‘inspire people who are living with life-limiting prospects to make the most of every day.’
