2022 in UK Google Searches
As 2022 comes to a close, Google has released the UK’s biggest trending searches over the past 12 months.
The data reveals the questions we shared, the people who inspired us, the movies we wanted to see and more.
There was a massive difference in searches between 2022 and the previous year – which was marked with questions about lockdowns, Covid and vaccines.
There was only one Covid-related search in the top 10’s – as Brits asked about ‘omicron symptoms’. This year’s searches had a lot of questions relating to the Queen’s death, the World Cup and apparently, a lot of Britons really wanted to know how old Diana Ross is – it comes in at number 5 on the UK’s most searched questions.
Stranger Things dominated our TV searches, and the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial appeared to have dominated the celebrity news.
Here’s what was on Britain’s minds over 2022.
