WWE ‘plotting UK SummerSlam return’ – 30 years after legendary Wembley event – with Cardiff leading race to host it
The Sun says WWE are reportedly plotting a UK SummerSlam return with Cardiff’s Principality leading the race to host it.
It would come 30 years after Wembley famously hosted the 1992 instalment of SummerSlam.
That night, 80,000 fans packed in to watch The British Bulldog defeat brother-in-law Bret Hart for the Intercontinental title.
WWE regularly tour the UK, up to twice a year, but are yet to return with a marquee PPV.
But according to talkSPORT, talks took place when the WWE came to Britain this month.
