The Independent – World holds its breath for Israel’s response to Iran

The Independent says Iran launched more than 300 projectiles at Israel overnight with more than 99 per cent of them intercepted. Israel has told the UN that it has “every right to retaliate” to the attack. 

During the emergency security council meeting last night, Israeli ambassador Gilad Erdan said: “We are surrounded by Iran’s terror proxies. This attack crossed every red line and Israel reveses every right to retaliate.”

The front page features a large image of the drone strikes from Iran – calling it ‘unprecedented’. 

The front splash also notes the weekend’s Premier League drama as both Arsenal and Liverpool dropped points at home, against teams they really should have beaten, handing the Premier League race advantage to Manchester City.
