Arsenal host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at 2pm this afternoon – but their clash in north London will not be shown on TV in the UK.

The Sunday 2pm kick-off game is traditionally shown live on Sky Sports in the UK as the channel’s first installment of their Super Sunday double bill.

This has left football fans disappointed at not being able to watch Arsenal vs Forest live on the Sky Sports TV channels as had been expected.

This means that viewers settling down on the sofa this afternoon will only be able to watch Manchester United vs West Ham, which kick-offs at 4.15pm on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football.

Read on to find out why Arsenal’s game with Nottingham Forest is not being shown on TV and how to follow the match elsewhere instead.

Why isn’t Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest on TV?

The reason why Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest is not being show live on TV is not due to a lack of available slots.

On a Premier League weekend, between four and five matches are shown live on TV – the Saturday lunchtime kick-off on BT, the Saturday evening match on Sky, two on Sky on a Sunday and either one on a Friday or Monday on Sky.

Sky Sports had originally selected Liverpool vs Leeds to be shown live on their TV channels at 2pm today, but Liverpool’s match with Napoli in the Champions League this coming Tuesday meant that the game could only be shown live on Sky Sports on Saturday to ensure sufficient turnaround between games.

Leeds’ dramatic 2-1 victory over Liverpool was therefore shown live on Sky Sports at 7.45pm yesterday evening, following their coverage of Fulham vs Everton at 5.30pm.

Arsenal played PSV in the Europa League on Thursday night, which meant that their game with Forest was scheduled for 2pm today but was never due to be shown live on TV.
