Wayne Rooney: Police drop blackmail complaint over viral pictures
Former football star Wayne Rooney’s complaint of blackmail has been dropped by the police.
Rooney complained of blackmail on Monday to police after images of him with three young women at a hotel were published and shared online. The images appear to show Rooney asleep in a chair with an unknown woman taking pictures with him.
Police say they were satisfied that no offences had taken place, adding Wayne Rooney had told them he did not wish to take the matter any further.
The Derby County manager’s representatives have previously declined to comment on the nature of the images.
