Historic Trump mugshot released after arrest in Atlanta, Georgia
Former US President Donald Trump has surrendered in Georgia on charges of plotting to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.
Following his arrest, his mugshot was released – the first of any former US president.
Trump paid a bail bond of $200,000 to be released from the Atlanta jail while he awaits trial.
It’s the former president’s fourth arrest in just five months in a criminal case, but this marks his first mugshot.
Trump took to X (formerly known as Twitter) for the first time since 2021, to share his mugshot with the caption: “Election interference. Never surrender!”
Trump says the many cases against him are politically motivated because he is leading the Republican race to challenge Joe Biden in next year’s presidential election.
