Trump falsely implies Taylor Swift endorses him

Donald Trump is facing backlash after sharing fake images on social media that falsely implied he had Taylor Swift’s endorsement. The Republican presidential candidate posted a message saying “I accept!” alongside the images, which were reportedly created using AI and taken from other social media accounts. One image showed Swift fans wearing “Swifties for Trump” t-shirts, while another mimicked a World War I recruiting poster with Swift’s face and a call to vote for Trump.

The post angered many of Swift’s fans, who accused Trump of spreading misinformation. Swift has not endorsed any candidate in the 2024 election but supported the Democrats in 2020 and criticised Trump during his presidency.

That's not going to happen since he reposted it from a group Swifties for Trump, he didn't make it or originally post it… pic.twitter.com/RMFTnIaXW4

NBC News noted that two of the women in the images are actual Trump supporters, but Swift’s stance remains unchanged. Earlier, she condemned Trump for his response to the George Floyd protests, accusing him of promoting racism and white supremacy.

“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?,” she posted on Twitter/X. “We will vote you out in November.”
