What you eat for breakfast can sometimes determine how the rest of your day is going to go, but one doctor’s unusual culinary combination has left TikTok viewers baffled.
Along with being the founder of the Center of New Medicine, Doctor Leigh Erin Kennedy frequently shares her mealtimes with her 604,200 followers, explaining how she only sticks to ‘super high-quality food.’
Given this, it’s no surprise that the creator steers away from more processed breakfast options, like sugary cereal or pastries. But viewers are more than a little baffled by the 66-year-old’s morning meal of choice.
‘I’m having a late breakfast of organic eggs and a currant jelly and a wonderful piece of cinnamon raisin bread,’ she explained, adding that the redcurrant jam contributes to a nice ‘contrast’ with the eggy toast.
The physician then went on to tell viewers how she values quality food with nutritional value above all else. As a doctor, she says that every single ingredient that makes up her meals are ‘well-sourced, delicious and nutritious.’
But nutrition aside, viewers were left unconvinced by the TikToker’s food choice.
‘That looks so gross for flavour,’ one viewer commented, while another judged the breakfast as being a ‘wholesome hot mess.’
‘I showed this to my husband (the combination of ingredients),’ a third added, ‘And he said “She’s more stoned than I am.”‘
But despite many commenters’ reservations, some were a little more open-minded — and even felt inspired enough to try the unique breakfast for themselves.
‘Never tried this combo but it looks good!’ one viewer wrote, while another shared how they ‘just had’ this same breakfast. And their verdict? ‘Yum!’
Either way, this breakfast seems perfect to give your day that little extra kick — and certainly makes a change from the same old toast or fry-up.
