    The Daily Express leads with the resignation of the government’s school catch up tsar. The paper says he quit after a “cash bust-up” over the “watered down package.”

    Boris’s school catch up tsar quits in cash bust-up 

    The Daily Express leads with the resignation of the government’s school catch up tsar Sir Kevan Collins. He has accused the government of underfunding plans to help pupils in England make up for lost education during the pandemic. The paper says Sir Kevan quit after a “cash bust up” over the “watered down package”.

    Platinum Jubilee: Royal invitation to the nation 

    The papers front splash also covers the announcement from Buckingham Palace regarding the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year. The Palace announced a 4-day Bank Holiday, a concert and more. The Platinum Jubilee will mark the Queen’s 70-year reign.

    The front page also features a picture of a woman on a beach as it says the Green list for travel is expected to be announced today.

    The Daily Express says the British Retail Consortium said shoppers should brace for possible higher price tags on EU foods this year, saying “with the additional Brexit red-tape this autumn, retailers may be forced to pass on some of these costs onto their customers.” Furious Express.co.uk said the expected price increase was yet another reason to support British businesses and farmers while shunning overseas firms.

    Brits can have NINE days off for the price of three thanks to Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

    The Daily Express says Buckingham Palace has announced a four-day Bank Holiday weekend from June 2 to June 5 next year in honour of the Queen’s 70th year as Monarch. In a statement, the Palace outlined what the festivities will involve.

    Earth’s ‘evil twin’ back on the agenda as NASA announces first Venus missions since 1990

    The Daily Express says NASA had been considering four different proposals for its Discovery Program, which included exploratory trips to the moons of Jupiter and Neptune. However, after careful consideration, Venus was chosen as the main focus. It is the first time since the Magellan project in August 1990. Magellan spent four years observing the planet until radio contact was lost in October 1994.
