    The Daily Telegraph leads with the ‘scathing statement’ from the school catch up tsar who quit over government funds. The paper also reports the green list could be culled.

    School tsar quits over catch up funds

    The Telegraph says Sir Kevan’s “scathing statement” that the allocated funding of £1.4bn for extra tutoring “does not come close to meeting the scale of the challenge”. His friends told the paper he privately expressed “dismay” on Tuesday evening, fearing he had “let down the sector”.

    Green list could be culled warns Johnson, with Portugal facing the axe

    The paper says the PM has warned countries could face the axe from the travel green list as concerns grow Portugal could face the chop. Ministers will meet today to discuss whether Portugal should be added to the amber list instead, meaning travellers will need to quarantine for 10-days on their return and pay for two PCR tests, the paper says. 

    England debutant faces racism storm over old Twitter posts

    The paper’s featured image is of cricketer Ollie Robinson who has said he is ‘embarrassed’ and ‘ashamed’ of old racist, islamophobic and sexist Twitter posts. 

    Army’s £3bn fleet of tanks cannot be driven over 20mph 

    The paper’s front page also reports that a leaked report reveals a new fleet of tanks bought by the British Army for £3.47bn cannot be driven safely over 20mph.

    Donald Trump said he’d give £100k ‘not to hear Theresa May talk’

    The Telegraph says Donald Trump said he would pay £100,000 to avoid hearing Theresa May speak after learning she was charging that much to give a speech.

    According to this week’s Spectator, Piers Morgan said he informed Donald Trump just before the last US election that former prime minister Theresa May “gets paid more than £100,000 a pop for speeches”.
