There are few things worse than the thought of taking a full face of makeup off after a night out.
The process of getting all those products off can be lengthy , when all you want is to get under the covers.
Not to mention Halloween makeup is probably the most difficult to get off with all the fake blood and dark eyeliner.
So we’ve rounded-up our best cleansing balms to get all that pesky product off your face with ease.
Cleansing balms have exploded in popularity, proving to be a fast and super effective way to melt away any makeup on your face, including waterproof mascaras.
Then you simply wipe off the balm with a face cloth and you’re clean and fresh-faced in seconds.
For the post-Halloween recovery try these balms to melt that makeup off, as if by magic.
Clinique Take the Day Off Balm
Clinique offers one of our all time favourite cleansing balms Picture: Clinique
This is a favourite of ours here at Metro.co.uk.
Simply take a small chunk of it on your finger and rub it all over your face, feeling it melt all the products down.
Then wipe it off with a damp cloth and you’re makeup-free.
Unfortunately it’s slightly on the pricey side, and while it lasts for a while before buying a new pot, there are cheaper alternatives.

This cleansing balm comes in the slightly different form of a solid bar.
Ethique’s products are for the environmentally conscious shoppers, with the cleansing balm packaging being compostable.
It’s smells good and has countless five star reviews while being a green purchase.
E.l.f Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm
It’s cheap but doesn’t skimp on effectiveness Picture: E.l.f.
E.l.f’s cleansing balm is the most cost-effective option on this list but just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean it doesn’t do the job and then some.
It’s very gentle on the skin and is popular with beauty gurus on TikTok, receiving high praise for it’s price point.
It melts makeup with ease and even comes with a little spoon to allow you to use the right amount of product.
Milk Makeup Hydro Ungrip Cleansing Balm
It’s pricey but it works Picture: Milk Makeup
Coming in at the most expensive on our list, it probably wouldn’t be our first choice, but this cleansing balm does do the job.
It’s got plenty of five star reviews, however at triple the price of some of the balms on this list, you’ll have to make the product last.
On the bright side it leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated.
