Strictly Come Dancing star Jayde Adams has clapped back at trolls who have made ‘silly’ remarks about her body in a brilliant and empowering message.
The Alma’s Not Normal star is paired with professional dancer Karen Hauer on the BBC’s juggernaut series, consistently impressing judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas.
The pair have become a hit with fans for their energetic and sassy performances, including a dramatic Tango to Adele’s Rumour Has It and a Cha Cha Cha to Irene Cara’s What A Feeling from Flashdance.
But, sadly, the Bristol-born actress has endured body and weight-shaming comments from trolls on several occasions.
Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old addressed the ‘stupid people saying silly things about my weight after my thighs went viral on Saturday night.’
She wrote: ‘I’m getting lots of nice people sending me many DM’s worrying about my mental health because stupid people are saying silly things about my weight after my thighs went viral on Saturday night.
‘You need to know, I would never allow someone who doesn’t see the idiocy of this logic, to affect my mental health AND if it did creep in, not only do I have Karen but I’m surrounded by people who would either gather round me or if it got REALLY bad, they’d track them and pay them a visit I’m sure. 🤣’
Jayde continued: ‘If there was something that wrong with me, I wouldn’t be able to dance 6 hours every day and lift Karen. Because of how stupid this logic is, I suspect their issues aren’t to do with me at all. But women always get it in the neck don’t they.
‘I’m not ignoring it, I’m addressing it. The more I show resilience to it, the more other people will be able to and that’s useful I think.

‘I love the love though. All MY love, from me and my massive thighs.’
On a happier note, Jayde and Karen opened up about their relationship previously to Metro.co.uk, describing themselves ‘as like a pair of old slippers.’

‘It is true I think but I think that’s what you need in a partnership: you have to be comfortable with one another,’ Karen added.
Jayde also revealed such is their closeness she’s in a Whataspp group with Karen and her husband.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
