Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell sparked debate with their tango (Picture: BBC)
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left heartbroken for Bobby Brazier following his tango with Dianne Buswell, so much so that many suggested a different partner for him.
The Freddie Slater actor, 20, and Australian pro, 34, performed a fierce tango to Fashion by David Bowie for week 4.
Sadly, despite a string of glowing reviews in previous weeks, Bobby and Dianne received a mixed bag of comments from the judges.
Anton du Beke told him: ‘I am so delighted with this performance.’
But Craig Revel Horwood was booed by audience members after he said there was a ‘lack of focus, intent and purpose’ to their performance.
Meanwhile, viewers couldn’t help but notice the height difference between Bobby and Dianne, as the youngster had his knees bent throughout the routine to bring himself down to Dianne’s level in hold.
‘I love Bobby but his height difference with Dianne kinda bothers me’, one viewer tweeted.
‘bobby and dianne AMAZING as usual so I hate to say it but the height difference does really impact his frame’, another wrote.
Another agreed: ‘their height difference and the amount bobby is bending his knees is stressing me out’.
Several Strictly fans suggested Nadiya Bychkova would’ve been a better fit for Bobby, as she is closer to his height.
‘Bobby may have been better with Nadiya for height. That height difference is an issue’, argued one.
‘I do wish they’d paired Bobby with someone the right height for him. Nadiya’s RIGHT THERE’, one added.
A third agreed: ‘i still don’t get why they didn’t partner bobby with nadiya seeing as she would have been a better height for him’.
Nevertheless, there was an outpouring of love for Bobby on social media, with fans wishing it was possible to reach through their screens and hug him as he looked ‘deflated’ after closing the show.
‘dianne and bobby crying??? absolutely not i never want these two to have sad emotions these are my WINNERS OKAY THEY MUST ALWAYS BE HAPPY’, one person wrote.
Indeed, Dianne was also in tears on what was an emotional night for the Strictly cast, with Ellie Leach, Adam Thomas, and Luba Mushtuk also welling up.

Speaking to Claudia Winkleman after their dance – which scored 30 – Bobby revealed it had been an ’emotional’ week for both him and Dianne, but didn’t divulge details.
‘It’s been so, so emotional all week, but closing the show was a great privilege,’ he said.
‘He’s just been a massive rock this week,’ Dianne praised. ‘So thank you.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday and Sunday on BBC One and iPlayer.
