Shoppers face empty shelves in 48 hours if disastrous pingdemic rules aren’t scrapped, Boris Johnson warned
The Daily Mirror says: SUPERMARKETS last night warned Boris Johnson he has just 48 hours to fix the pingdemic or shoppers will face empty shelves.
Huge numbers of staff have had to self-isolate after being pinged by the NHS Covid app — hitting supplies.
The PM apologised but again refused to change the app’s system.
Iceland have said it has closed “a number of stores” with 1,000 workers – four per cent of its workforce – forced to self-isolate after being pinged.
BP has temporarily closed some petrol stations due to fuel supply problems, with M&S warning 20 per cent of its staff could be self-isolating by next month.
Speaking this morning, Iceland boss Richard Walker said he had hired 2,000 temporary workers to cover absences caused by the pingdemic
