Selena Gomez has served a serious bout of nostalgia for her fans with a reference to her Disney days.
Before she was the global superstar we know her as today, Selena, 30, was a child star on Disney Channel, along with the likes of Demi Lovato.
The Love You Like A Love Song hitmaker has been in the industry for a hot minute, having starred on Barney & Friends back in 2002, before booking Wizards of Waverly Place, which garnered her a legion of fans.
She played Alex Russo in the teen fantasy series, which aired from 2007 until 2012, but it seems Selena still has a lot of love for where it all started.
Sharing a snap to Instagram in celebration of her time as a Disney star, Selena posed underneath a street sign that read, ‘Waverly Pl,’ of course, in a nod to the title of her former show.
She dressed in casual attire of an oversized sweater and zebra print trousers, titling her head to look up lovingly at the sign.

The area is located in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, and it served as the inspiration for the sitcom’s location.
Proving she’s proud of her roots, Selena captioned the pic: ‘Where it all began,’ giving her 353million followers all the feels.
‘Alex Russo, One of my favourite characters from Disney.. Selena You are basically the queen of Disney,’ one fan commented on the post that approached five million likes.
‘You just gave me chills!!’, penned another.

A third ‘proud Selenator’ added that they’ve been following Selena’s career since 2010 and hailed it ‘the best choice I’ve made in my life.’
‘Words cannot explain how much I love you. I will always be with you, no matter what happens,’ the sweet fan told the star.

The Texas-born star – who played a teenage girl in a family of wizards who own a restaurant in New York City – was praised by critics for her comic timing and sarcastic performances, which young viewers took to their hearts.
In 2009, Selena also appeared in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.
