A 12-year-old boy has been crushed to death after a garage wall collapsed at a home in Essex.
A man his 30s survived the incident in St John’s Road, Clacton, on Friday evening.
It happened in a garage connected to a house and the two injured people were ‘known to each other’.
The older male was pulled from the rubble with an injured arm but nothing could be done to save the boy.
Paramedics battled to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Essex Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Detective inspector James Hardingham: ‘My thoughts are with the family and friends of those concerned at this sad time.
‘We’re continuing our enquiries to establish the facts leading to the wall collapse.
‘If anyone has information that can help us, or anyone who was in St John’s Road just before 7pm last night and saw anything that could help our investigation, should call us.’
