Sajid Javid will give Covid update at Downing Street press conference today
The Daily Mirror says Health Secretary Sajid Javid is expected to a give a coronavirus update from Downing Street today amid growing alarm over rising cases.
Mr Javid will lead the first Covid press conference for weeks at 5pm today as NHS leaders urged the Government to enact a winter “Plan B” to stave off the virus.
The Health Secretary is not expected to announced plans to impose “Plan B” Covid restrictions such as masks and working from home.
Mr Javid will talk about the work of the antivirals taskforce and he is also likely to be grilled on the sluggish take-up for booster jabs.
