Rail firm admits ‘serious failings’ over how it ran trains in the South East
The Metro says Go-Ahead group has admitted to serious errors and failings in the way it ran the Southeastern rail franchise.
The company was stripped of its deal to operate routes in the region by the government last October.
Back in September, transport secretary Grant Shapps said that since October 2014, the company has not declared more than £25 million of historic taxpayer funding which should have been returned.
He described this as a ‘significant breach’ of the company’s agreement to operate routes covered by he contract.
