Vladimir Putin’s frequent ‘fidgeting’ today has led to further speculation surrounds the state of his health.

The Russian president oversaw a series of nuclear drills which involved missiles, submarines and bombers.

According to state media, the military was practicing ‘delivering a massive nuclear strike by strategic offensive forces in response to an enemy nuclear strike’.

In a short clip broadcast on Russian news channels, Putin could be seen speaking with security chiefs and watching drills unfold.

Many noted that he struggled to keep still, shifting papers and repeatedly picking up his pen only to place it down again.

One Twitter user wrote: ‘It’s like he doesn’t know what to do with the pens and the papers, rearranging them, picking up different pens.

‘Putin has a habit of “paper rearranging” past photo ops.’

Similar behaviour has been demonstrated by the Kremlin leader in recent public appearances.

In September, he seemed unable to stop his leg twitching during a talk.

The Russian president spoke at a conference for young ecologists while tapping the armrest of his chair which he also appeared to grasp for support, MailOnline reported.

The surreal appearances fueled rumours the warmonger may be seriously ill, with reports claiming he is suffering everything from cancer to Parkinson’s – while others have put his bloated face down to the use of mood-altering steroids.

He’s previously looked ‘unsteady on his feet’ and his ‘trembling hands’ have been noted since the war in Ukraine began.

A wave of fresh attacks by Russia have raised fears that, facing setbacks on the battlefield, the Kremlin could turn to even more extreme measures to escalate the war.

During today’s meeting today, Putin repeated Russian accusations of the potential use of a ‘dirty bomb’ by Ukraine.

He said that the risk of conflict in the world and region was high, and that security should be heightened around key infrastructure sites.

Russia’s allegations of Ukraine planning such an attack have been slammed by world leaders.
