Power being restored after brief blackout for parts of Paris, say electricity operators | UK News

Electricity operators are working to restore power after about 170,000 homes were hit by a blackout in Paris.

Some metro and suburban train lines were halted, while 170,000 homes were initially without power after a technical issue at an electrical substation in Issy-les-Moulineaux, to the southwest of the city at 5.38am (6.38am French time)

In a post on X, RTE, which manages France’s high-voltage electricity transmissions, said 112,000 homes in the city and its surrounding areas had been reconnected within five minutes.

At 6.50am (7.50am French time), 2,600 homes were still without power, with RTE teams working to restore power to all affected homes.

French electricity supplier Enedis said earlier that it was expected to be fully restored by 8am (9am French time).
